Small Clothing Haul & TDCC Gig!♡

Hi everyone,
Firstly I would like to apologise for the lack of posts recently, i've had exams and work so there have been a lot of other things taking up my free time but I am finally back!
Secondly, just as a disclaimer, I want you to know that I do not in any way consider myself a photographer and I understand that the pictures featured in this blog post are not the greatest, but I tried my best!
Yesterday I travelled to Manchester to go and see Two Door Cinema Club, so I had a little visit to the Trafford Centre and I picked up a few clothing items that I am going to share with you, and I also have a couple of little things I have ordered online!

(you can find this top here)

The Topshop in my town is so tiny that it doesn't have a 'tall' section, which is very unfortunate for me as I am around 5"7 so tall sections in shops are my saviour. However, the Topshop in the Trafford Centre is huge and has a 'tall' section, so I was overjoyed when visiting it yesterday.
This top is one of the first things I saw and I instantly fell in love with it. I love the detailing of the lace/crochet pattern of the fabric and I also love the collar as I think it adds an extra something to the top. It also comes in other colours such as white and coral, but I prefer darker colours so I was drawn to the navy one. It is also very good value at £16.

(you can find this top here)

I love buying clothes from Hollister as they are always such good quality and can be used as staple pieces at all different times of year.
The thing that drew me to this top the most was the neckline. I love how it continues down the back of the t-shirt as well as the front, as this is a style I haven't seen very many times before. It will look great with many different looks, but I am especially looking forward to wearing it tucked into my high waisted disco pants! It was also good value at just £16.

River Island

I often look through the mens sections in shops as I quite often find items that I like. I found this polo shirt in the mens section in River Island and loved it straight away. I got it in a size small as this is still big and baggy on me, however I love the effect of baggy polo shirts. I also really like the colours as I am very prone to the odd red/burgundy item of clothing ;-) It was also quite the bargain at £14.

Two Door Cinema Club Merchandise

The Two Door Cinema Club gig was absolutely amazing! We were right at the barrier at the front and the crowd was insane! If you ever get the chance to go and see them, you should definitely do it! I got this t-shirt from the merchandise stand inside the venue for £18 and I love it!

I ordered this top from the sale, and with delivery it came to £4.80! Such a bargain. It has a very floaty fit so it is perfect for everyday wear with skinny jeans or leggings. The only thing i'm not sure about is the sparkly gold lining around the arms and the neck, I can't decide if I like it. Despite this, i'm sure I will get my wear out of this top.

Daisy Street

(you can find these disco pants here)

After a long and painful hunt for the perfect disco pants, I finally found them on Daisy Street. I love the shimmer of the material as it makes them great for dressed up night time outfits, however they are easy to style for a daytime look. I adore the element of the high waist, as they look fabulous with lovely tops tucked into them! They were great value at £9.99.

And so that concludes my small clothing haul!
Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed it!

My Rock 'N Rose Wishlist!♡

Hi everyone,

I've been really loving the jewellery on Rock 'N Rose at the moment and I have seen so many good reviews of their products, i'm so desperate to order some items! However, as I don't think it's possible for my purse to shrink any smaller, this is my wishlist..

I absolutely love The Beatles, so this Lennon bracelet is perfect for me! I think it's so cute and simple. Plus, it's reduced from £11 to £8 in the sale.!

I think this bronze wishbone necklace is so pretty. I have some earrings exactly like this from River Island. I love the simplicity of just the chain and the wishbone charm. This necklace is down from £14 to £11 in the sale.

One of the main reasons I want this ear cuff is because I could wear it so often! It's only small but it adds an extra edgy element to a look (plus, i'm too much of a wimp to get anything other than my ear lobes pierced so this is a substitute for a pretty ear piercing). This is just £6!

This little locket bracelet is so cute! I really like the raspberry coloured leather band as it looks so girly and pretty. Once again, I love the simplicity of this item. This is £11.

I really like blouses that come with decorated collars, but I had never really considered buying collar tips before - Until I saw these two pairs on the Rock 'N Rose website. They are so lovely and add an extra something to a plain blouse. The stags are £18 and the gold triangular collar tips are £16.

This bracelet is placed at the very top of my wishlist, I really love it. The band reads 'C'Est La Vie - Whatever will be will be' which I think is such a lovely quote and I like the way it is engraved on the vintage style band. This costs £14 - I really want this!!

Thank you for reading my blog post! I hope you enjoyed it and as always, feel free to leave a comment with any feedback!

Tag: 20 Favourite Things!♡

Hi everyone,
Today I am doing another tag because I'm still quite new to blogging and I like using tags as a way to help people reading my blog feel like they know more about me!

1. Colour - Either burgundy or white. I love how fresh and clean the colour white is!

2. Dessert - Lemon sorbet. It's so refreshing, especially in the summer!

3. Smell - Either mango, vanilla or my current favourite perfume, Calvin Klein Shock.

4. Flower - Roses or Lillies.

5. Animal - I can't decide between cats and dogs! Giraffes are really cute too.

6. Month - July. All exams are over, the weather's getting warmer and everyone is off school and on the beach and it's great.

7. Beverage - The Mango fruit smoothie cooler thing from Starbucks.

8. Shoes - I'd absolutely love to own a pair of white lace litas! But unfortunately, I don't :(
9. Snack - Pretzels!

10. Song/s - I have so many favourite songs! Two of my definite favourites are Live Forever by Oasis and Kiss Me by Ed Sheeran.

11. Book - The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks.

12. Fruit - I would say mango, but I can only have it in juice form so probably apple.

13. Hairstyle - Waterfall braid! It looks so gorgeous on long wavy hair, however I have not managed to master it yet :(

14. Piece/s of clothing - My favourite piece of clothing is my leather jacket from Topshop. It goes with so many different outfits and I have worn it so many times, definitely worth the money!

15. Stores to shop - I love Republic but there isn't one in my town. :( I also love MAC but there isn't one of those either (which is probably a good thing as I would never have any money!)

16. Season - I always change my mind about this, but at the moment my favourite season is definitely summer. Everyone is in better spirits and you can go out more often and stay out on summer evenings, it's lovely.

17. Hobby -

18. Things to collect - I love collecting physical copies of CD's and gig tickets from gigs I have been to.

19. Movie - Nowhere Boy!

20. Restaurant - I don't really eat in restaurants very often because I don't really like it, but the my favourite restaurant I have eaten in is Red Hot World Buffet, if that counts as a restaurant...

So there it is, the '20 Favourite Things Tag' completed!
I tag everyone

Get The Look: Taylor Swift!♡

I've taken a rather different route for my blog post today, as this post focuses much more on fashion than my previous posts.
Taylor Swift has been in the headlines a lot recently, so I took the time to do a bit of research and look at the sort of clothes she has been wearing.

Burgundy Skater Dress
This dress is very casual yet elegant and girly at the same time. It is perfectly teamed with black tights, simple ballet pumps and a vintage satchel to give an elegantly casual feel to the outfit.

Recreate This Look: Burgundy Skater Dress

I found this dress on Missguided for just £14.99! It is almost identical to the dress that Taylor is wearing, however it comes in lots of different colours so you could change up the outfit to be more to your liking!

The second dress I found was from New Look, however it is not as good of a match to Taylor's dress as the above dress found on Missguided. It is still a very similar design and costs a very affordable price of just £12.99!

The third and final dress I found was from Topshop. This is probably the dress that I deem most similar to the dress Taylor is wearing. The design is very similar due to the high neck and almost boxy look of the top of the dress. This dress is a bit more expensive at £26.

Recreate This Look: Black Ballet Pumps

The first pair of shoes I found were from Missguided. They are more of a slipper design than the shoes Taylor is pictured wearing, however they would give the same subtle dressed down effect. They cost £20.

The second pair of shoes I found were from New Look. I love the rose detailing on these shoes, as I think they give a very elegant and girly look, especially when teamed with a floaty skater dress just like in this look. These pumps cost just £15.99.

The third and final pair of shoes that I found were also from New Look. These shoes are most like the ones Taylor is pictured wearing due to the detailing on the front of the shoe. I love these shoes as I feel that the toe cap detailing really draws people's attention to the shoes. This pair cost £17.99.

Recreate This Look: Vintage Leather Satchel

A leather satchel is a wonderful accessory to have as it is versatile and can be paired with many different outfits. I have found two similar bags online. The first bag I found was from ASOS and costs just £25. This bag is similar in the respect that it is a brown leather satchel, however it only has one clasp opening whereas the bag Taylor is pictured with has two.

The second bag I found was also from ASOS and also costs £25. This bag is the most similar to Taylor's as it has the double clasp strap detailing on the front of the bag, but both bags will look great teamed with this outfit!

So there you have it! That was my attempt at recreating one of Taylor Swift's outfits!

Thank you for reading this blog post! I hope you enjoyed it!

Get To Know Me Tag!♡

I thought that since I haven't had this blog for very long, it would be nice to do this tag as it introduces people that visit my blog to me and my personality "behind the screen" if you get what I mean...

1. Are you named after anyone?
Nope, I'm just called Laura because my parents liked the name. :)

2. When was the last time you cried?
I actually can't remember! I cry from laughter pretty much on a day to day basis, so if crying with laughter counts, then the last time I cried was yesterday.

3. Do you have children?

4. If you were another person, would you be friends with yourself?
Maybe! I like to think i'm quite easy to get along with and  like looking at the good and funny sides of situations, so yeah I think I would be friends with myself.

5. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
All the time. I think it just makes situations funnier and sometimes makes light of a situation that isn't so good.

6. Will you ever bungee jump?
I'd love to think that one day i'd do a bungee jump, but I think i'm way too scared of heights to ever actually get to the point where you bungee jump from!

7. What is your favourite cereal?
I very very rarely eat cereal, but i'd have to say that my favourite is either Special K or those Coco Pop rock things..

8. What is the first thing you notice about people?
Probably their height, as I am quite tall myself so I am always looking at the height of other people in comparison with my height.

9. What is your eye colour?
Green. Why couldn't I have been blessed with brown eyes?! :(

10. Scary films or happy endings?
I like the occasional scary film when I am with my friends as I honestly think there is nothing funnier than when you're all sat round a TV under duvets scared to death of a scary movie, however I think happy endings are my all time favourite types of films.

11. Favourite smells?
Mango, Calvin Klein 'Shock' perfume, 'Alien' perfume (that I am too poor to own :( ), lemon, vanilla.

12. Summer or Winter?
I would usually say winter because I love the cuteness and coziness that is associated with winter, however summer just puts everyone in a great mood and there is so much more to do.

13. Computer or TV?
Computer! There's so much more to do on a computer, and besides, you can always watch television programmes on the computer.. ;-)

14. What is the furthest you've ever been from home?
Probably Portugal! I went on holiday there with my family when I was younger and it was lovely!

15. Do you have any special talents?
Not really... I can make my thumb click in and out of place if that counts....

16. Where were you born?
Scarborough in England.

17. What are your hobbies?
...Does shopping count as a hobby?

18. Do you have any pets?
Yep, I have 3 cats (one black older cat, two kittens - one tortoise shell, one ginger tom) and a springer spaniel called Tilly.

19. What is your favourite film?
My favourite film is Nowhere Boy! Although I also love films like Pretty In Pink and The Breakfast Club, plus I also have a bit of a soft spot for films like Mean Girls and Angus Thongs And Perfect Snogging.

20. Do you have any siblings?
Nope, I am an only child!

I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope it helped you get to know me better!
If you decide to do this tag feel free to leave a link to your blog in the comments and I will check it out!♡

December Favourites!♡

Happy New Year! I can't believe it's January 2013 already, 2012 seemed to go by so quickly but I absolutely loved it, it was full of so many memories with people that I will never forget! So here it is, a few days late, my December favourites.....♡

1. Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer

I have owned this primer for a couple of months now, and even though I use it nearly every day, there is hardly even an imprint in the product! It is everything I wanted from a primer for a very affordable price of just £4.99.

I'm always suspicious of products that claim to 'absorb instantly', but this primer literally absorbs into the skin within a matter of seconds. The gel consistency allows the product to be very light and smooth on the skin, creating the perfect base for make up application.
I notice a significant difference in the look and longevity of my make up when I use this product as apposed to applying make up when I have just applied a normal facial moisturiser.
Overall, this product makes the skin perfectly smooth, making the application of make up a lot easier.

You can buy this product here.

2. Elf Mineral Booster

I bought this product as part of an offer on the ELF website, and it has turned out to be one of my favourite make up products ever!

This product is perfect for application after other products such as concealer and foundation, as I feel like it really locks in my make up and helps it to last longer.
Only a light dusting of product is required, however it helps to cover up any redness that has been missed by concealer or foundation, helping to give the look of flawless skin.

You can buy this product here.

3. MUA Professional Heaven & Earth Eyeshadow Palette

This product is basically the definition of value for money. At just £4, this palette is absolutely incredible. Filled with 12 natural and earthy shades, many different beautiful eye looks can be achieved using this palette.

This palette is such a great substitute for more expensive palettes such as the Naked Palette. I have used all of the colours at least once as I love experimenting and trying different looks.
The eyeshadows have very little "fall down", they also stay on all day and are very pigmented; which is all very impressive considering the small price tag. I will be using this product for a long time!

You can buy this product here.

4. No7 Lash Adapt Mascara

I technically only got this on the 25th December, but I have been using it all the time!

I really like the applicator of this mascara as I much prefer bristles to plastic mascara wands! The formula and wand makes it easy to build volume and create lashes that both shape and define your eyes wonderfully.

You can buy this product here. (It is a bit more pricey than the other products featured in this post!!)

5. No7 Cleanse & Care Eye Make Up Remover

This make up remover is perfect! It isn't too oily or greasy, and removes all eye make up quickly and easily.

I have been using this product to remove my eye make up for many months now and it has never caused any irritation or breakouts on my skin. I know that I will continue to use this product for quite a long time!

((I can't find this product on the Boots website, sorry!!))

6. Pantene Pro-v Aqua Light Spray

I first bought the product from Poundland not really expecting miracles from the result. Since then, I have repurchased the product numerous times and have plans to repurchase it in the very near future.

I love using this product before drying my hair, as it helps to untangle any knots in my hair and gives my hair a glossy, weightless feel. I use this product pretty much every day and I am pretty much in love with it! And for such a bargain price of £1, I would definitely recommend it to everyone!

So that's it for my December Favourites 2012!

Thank you for reading my blog post, I hope you enjoyed it!
As always, feel free to comment with any feedback or suggestions of other posts or products to try out!
